The Ultrex Quest is Minn Kota’s most significant bow-mount redesign in a decade — a brushless motor with 24V/36V field-configurable dual voltage, an integrated Humminbird MEGA Down Imaging and Side Imaging transducer running inside the shaft, and the Power-Stow auto-deploy bracket that raises and lowers the motor at the push of a button.

Voltage Configuration — 24V vs. 36V
The Ultrex Quest ships in a single hardware SKU supporting both 24V and 36V operation. Voltage is selected via the motor’s configuration menu — no hardware swap required.
24V Configuration (Standard Bass Boat Setup): 2 × 12V batteries wired in series. Recommended capacity: 2 × 100Ah minimum (LiFePO4 preferred). Circuit breaker: 60A auto-reset on the positive lead. Wire gauge: 4 AWG under 10 feet; 2 AWG for 10–20 feet. Max thrust: 112 lb.
36V Configuration (Maximum Runtime + Efficiency): 3 × 12V batteries wired in series. Recommended: 3 × 100Ah LiFePO4. Circuit breaker: 50A auto-reset (lower amperage at higher voltage — same wattage). Wire gauge: 6 AWG under 10 feet; 4 AWG for 10–20 feet. Max thrust: 112 lb. Runtime improvement: ~35–40% more than 24V on same Ah bank.
MEGA DI/SI Integrated Transducer — Display Compatibility
The MEGA DI/SI transducer cable runs inside the motor shaft and exits at the motor mount as a Universal Sonar 2 (US2) connector — directly and exclusively for Humminbird displays with a US2 port.
Compatible displays (US2 port required): Humminbird HELIX 10, 12, 15 (MEGA SI+ G3N, G4N or later) and SOLIX 10, 12, 15 (MEGA SI+ models).
NOT compatible via US2: Garmin, Lowrance, Simrad. Use a separate pole-mounted transducer for those platforms.
MEGA Live compatibility: The integrated US2 cable carries MEGA DI + MEGA SI only. For MEGA Live Imaging (forward-facing live sonar), mount a separate MEGA Live transducer via pole/IPS bracket.
Power-Stow Bracket
Mounting footprint: 6″ × 9″. The Power-Stow actuator requires a separate 12V accessory circuit (~10A peak during stow/deploy) — do not run this from the trolling motor battery bank.
i-Pilot Link Bluetooth — Humminbird Integration
i-Pilot Link pairs with Humminbird HELIX/SOLIX displays via Bluetooth once paired: full motor control from the chart screen, Spot-Lock positions visible as waypoints on the Humminbird chart, and Follow-The-Track control from the Humminbird route planner. Requires HELIX software 3.00+ or SOLIX 2.00+.
