Description
The ECHOMAP Ultra 2 126sv is Garmin’s current flagship 12-inch chartplotter-sonar combo — a LiveScope Plus-ready, NMEA 2000 display that pairs a high-contrast IPS touchscreen with the GT56UHD transducer’s CHIRP, ClearVü, and SideVü sonar in a single unit. This bundle includes the Navionics+ subscription, putting 42 million lake and coastal waypoints on screen out of the box.

Tech-Rig Compatibility & Rigging
Power Requirements
The ECHOMAP Ultra 2 126sv operates on 10–32V DC, drawing approximately 3.0A at 12V (display only). The GT56UHD transducer draws an additional 0.3–0.5A. Total system draw: ~3.5A at 12V. A 5A inline fuse or breaker on the power lead is sufficient.
- Minimum wire gauge: 18 AWG for runs under 10 feet; 16 AWG for runs 10–20 feet
- Recommended power source: Dedicated accessory 12V battery or clean-side of a Blue Sea Systems PowerBar busbar
- Do not share power with the trolling motor circuit — motor back-EMF causes display noise and GPS errors
NMEA 2000 Network Integration
The 126sv connects to a NMEA 2000 backbone via a standard 4-pin Micro-C connector. To integrate LiveScope Plus (GLS10 black box), a Garmin VHF, or a second display in a networked bow/console configuration:
- Install a Garmin NMEA 2000 Starter Kit (010-11442-00) as your backbone
- Add one T-connector per device — each includes one backbone pass-through + one 1-foot drop cable
- Terminate both ends of the backbone with the included 120Ω terminators
- Run the 4-pin NMEA 2000 drop from each T-connector to each device
NMEA 2000 Bandwidth Note: LiveScope Plus generates high data throughput. Install the GLS10 black box as close to the display as possible on the backbone.
GT56UHD Transducer — Mounting
The GT56UHD is a trolling motor 8-pin connector transducer. Mounting options:
- Trolling motor mount (standard): Zip-tie to trolling motor shaft — puck face pointing down, cable routed through strain relief
- Transom mount (alternative): Requires 8-pin to Garmin 4-pin adapter cable (sold separately) and a transom mount bracket
- Depth offset: Set keel offset in Garmin display settings to compensate for transducer mounting height vs. actual waterline
LiveScope Plus Integration (Sold Separately)
The 126sv natively supports Garmin LiveScope Plus via a GLS10 black box on the NMEA 2000 backbone. Display must be running firmware 33.00 or later. LiveScope and the GT56UHD sonar run simultaneously on separate sonar pages.
Why Tournament Anglers Buy the ECHOMAP Ultra 2 126sv
- IPS Display Advantage: IPS panels maintain color accuracy and contrast at 170°+ viewing angles — critical when you’re reading the bow display from the stern seat in direct sunlight on a tournament day. TN panels look like mirrors in the same conditions.
- SideVü at This Price Point: The GT56UHD delivers true SideVü — 45° lateral coverage to each side — so you’re scanning structure, brush piles, and timber from the trolling motor pass, not just what’s directly below the boat.
- LiveScope Plus Ready Without a New Display: If you already own a GLS10 and LVS34, you plug them into this display via NMEA 2000. No new MFD purchase required.
- Navionics+ Bundle Value: Navionics+ is a $35.99/year subscription normally. This bundle includes the first year. The SonarChart database has the most current depth data for U.S. lakes — crowdsourced sonar data updated continuously.
- Dual-Page Display: Run 2D sonar + chart, SideVü + chart, or ClearVü + chart simultaneously on a split screen.
