Complete Garmin LiveScope Plus system: LVS34 transducer + GLS10 black box. 1.2 MHz, 135° forward/down live sonar, Perspective Mode. Compatible with ECHOMAP Ultra 2 and GPSMAP series. Same-day shipping.

Description

The Garmin LiveScope Plus system consists of two components: the LVS34 transducer, which transmits the sonar beam, and the GLS10 black box, which processes the data and sends it to your Garmin display via NMEA 2000. This is the complete system — everything you need to add real-time forward-facing live sonar to any ECHOMAP Ultra 2 or GPSMAP display.

Tech-Rig Compatibility & Rigging

System Architecture — How the Two Components Work Together

The LiveScope Plus system requires three components working together:

  1. GLS10 Black Box — the signal processor. Mounts anywhere within 10 feet of the NMEA 2000 backbone (bilge, console, rod locker wall). Powered by the NMEA 2000 backbone bus.
  2. LVS34 Transducer — connects to the GLS10 via a proprietary 8-pin cable (included, 20 feet). Does the actual sonar transmitting and receiving.
  3. Compatible Garmin Display — receives LiveScope data from the GLS10 via the NMEA 2000 backbone. Must be firmware 33.00 or later.

Data flow: LVS34 transducer → 20-ft cable → GLS10 black box → NMEA 2000 backbone → Garmin display

Compatible Garmin Displays

Display Compatibility Notes
ECHOMAP Ultra 2 (all sizes) Full compatibility Recommended primary display
GPSMAP 7×2 / 8x / 9×3 series Full compatibility 7″, 9″, 12″, 16″
ECHOMAP UHD2 (6/7/9″) LiveScope ONLY, no Perspective Limited NMEA bandwidth — cannot display Perspective mode
STRIKER series Not compatible No NMEA 2000 port

NMEA 2000 Installation

  1. Install a Garmin NMEA 2000 Starter Kit (010-11442-00) as the backbone — bow to console
  2. Add T-connectors: one per device (display, GLS10, GPS antennae, VHF)
  3. Connect the GLS10 to a T-connector via its 4-pin NMEA 2000 drop cable. Mount GLS10 within 10 feet of the T-connector
  4. Connect the LVS34 transducer cable to the GLS10 black box rear port
  5. Deploy the LVS34 via IPS Motor Mount Bracket (010-12676-20) on your trolling motor shaft — puck face forward for Forward Mode
  6. Power on the NMEA 2000 backbone (12V, 3A fused)
  7. On Garmin display: Settings → My Boat → Transducers → LiveScope Plus auto-detects

LVS34 Transducer — Mounting Options

Option 1 — IPS Motor Mount (Standard Bass Boat): The IPS bracket clamps to the trolling motor shaft above the head. LVS34 cable runs down the shaft to the bracket. GLS10 mounts in console or bow locker. Cleanest install for bow-mount users.

Option 2 — Perspective Mode Mount: A separate arm attaches to the trolling motor at 45°, deploying the LVS34 to the side for a sweeping top-down live view. Requires firmware 33.00+.

Option 3 — Stern/Transom Pole Mount: The Stern Saver transom mount (available in Marine Power & Accessories) accepts the LVS34 via a universal tube clamp for boats without a bow-mount trolling motor.

Sonar Mode Reference

Mode Beam Pattern Best For
LiveScope Forward 20° × 135° Watching fish and structure 0–200 ft ahead of the boat
LiveScope Down 20° × 135° (pointed down) Real-time view directly below — jigging, vertical fishing
LiveScope Perspective 20° × 135° (side-angled) Top-down “bird’s-eye” live view of shallow water structure

Why Tournament Anglers Buy LiveScope Plus

  • Target Separation at Range: The LVS34’s 1.2 MHz frequency (upgraded from the LVS32’s 510 kHz) delivers better target separation — individual fish distinguishable from tight groups, fine structure resolving cleanly at 40+ feet.
  • 135° Field of View in Forward Mode: At 30 feet range, that’s ~75 feet of lateral coverage. You see fish before the boat is anywhere near them. Position for the cast before the fish know you’re there.
  • Near-Real-Time Framerate: At 15–20 fps, you see a bass track a lure, commit, and eat — or reject — in the same moment you feel it on the line.
  • Works Alongside Existing 2D/SI Sonar: The LiveScope system runs independently from your GT56UHD or any other conventional transducer. Split screen: LiveScope forward on the left, traditional 2D sonar on the right. No functionality lost — a new dimension added.
